Jesus, Holy Ghost & Me LLC

This week on Ota-NA Farms:

Turned off our prehistoric HVAC. It may be sunny outside, but the whistling chimneys say it ain’t no beach out there.

Sent two mice to heaven. My daughter unglued the third. I told her it was probably just going off to recruit reinforcements — torture for everyone involved.

Fixed the hot water and at last I feel clean again.

Learned about conservation programs. Found my USDA reps — such gentlemen, such service. Registered with USDA NRCS in the nick of time on January 14th.

Ordered seeds.

All while operating under the leadership structure of - Jesus, Holy Ghost & Me.

Honestly, farming makes me feel like an onion — raw as layer after layer of assumptions peel away.

In corporate America you can hide behind PowerPoints and strategic frameworks.

Out here?

The pervasive winds rolling across the plains humble everybody.

One day you are discussing regenerative agriculture.

The next day you are Googling:

“Why is there a screeching noise in my greenhouse at 5 AM?”

Still… every week feels like loaves-and-fishes mathematics.

Not enough money.
Not enough knowledge.
And definitely not enough sleep.

And yet somehow…

enough.
